WinPatrol is intended to detect malware that is usually started along with the system. It allows monitoring Startup programs to find infections. Moreover, it lets you perform changes to your system configuration so that it takes less time to boot. The program can be set to automatically start with the System and display alerts when any change occurs in the Startup list.
The program has a user-friendly interface. Multiple tabs allow you to access the multiple functions available. However, it is a pity that some of the tabs do not really work in the free version and require you to buy WinPatrol instead. It would have been much better if these tabs do not appear in this version at all.
You can access the list of startup programs, which allows you to view information about one of these applications, add new entries, or, on the contrary, disable or delete existing ones. An interesting feature is that it can detect programs from the so-called “secret startup locations”. Similarly, you can also delay the execution of some startup programs to speed up the startup process. You can also monitor the tasks scheduled by Windows Task Scheduler and remove unneeded ones. Moreover, you can view the list of services installed on your computer. Other tabs grant you access to other types of lists, including cookies, file types, hidden files and recent programs. Finally, WinPatrol can keep track of when a program was executed for the first time. more

If your not sure what something does, Plus Info (in the paid version) gives straight forward date w/ Users' ranking giving the facts needed to make your decision - saving a whole lot of time with Google, btw if they don't have data on line check back for an answer (con: They do NOT advise when they do, nor a "Flag". PRO: You can add your own note to this program's file.).
